Yellow Tomatoes

Morning all,
My gardeners Delight tomatoes turned out not be and instead I have Yellow tomatoes :rotfl:
Has anyone a suggestion on what I can do with them? I usually make batches of sauce for pasta, but I don't fancy yellow sauce.
I was thinking a simple chutney/relish, so has anyone a simple recipe.

Yes definitely try a tomato chutney. I usually make a spicy Indian version using cherry tomatoes and keep them chunky, which is great on toast.

This is the simplest version I can find online. Mine uses more spices and no onions, but there's no point in investing in ingredients you won't otherwise use when you can still get a good result using much fewer. It works well when you julienne ginger into fine strips.

I'd also give some away to friends and challenge them to do something interesting with them!

  • We grow a small tomato just the same size as Gardeners Delight and it is a yellow one that shades to glorious orangey gold when it's fully ripe, it's called SUNGOLD and is the sweetest and nicest tasting of all of them. You can use it for anything you'd usually use gardeners delight for. If you want to use it for sauce add in some tomato puree from red ones, from a tube is fine and it will give you a wonderful orange sauce with a super sweet flavour.

    Thank you,
I haven't a clue which toms I have ended up with, they were marked up as Gardeners Delight, so they are a lucky dip. I must say they are nice.
I thought about putting tomato paste in but wasn't sure if it would work , I will certainly try that.
