Well some of these are trendy but I just tasted mutton for the first time and wow - if I could I would not go back to lamb.
So (apart from M5 Gloucester Service Station which sells mutton shoulder for 8.50 per kg) where else can I buy it? And not interested in fancy prices. GSS is reasonable and butchered and hung properly.
What aBout goat? Healthy, fat free meat. Why isn't it widely available in this country?
WAITROSE - you listening? You have brought us 'forgotten cuts'. You have marrow bones - not sure what to do with those but they are cheap - and now you have ribs (short back beef ribs). You suggest a slow cook stew. I would use for stock.
Mutton anybody? What about all those sheep who have lambed a couple of times? What do farmers do with them?

Goat and mutton are very popular Jamaican staples (curry goat and rice, mutton is sometimes substituted), usually found in Jamaican and Asian shops, but Asda and certain branches of Tesco have started to sell it more frequently.0
