I had a email today saying i won a mousemat from Quizonaut.
I was chuffed with this as ive only came back to competitions in the last few days.
I followed the link to claim it, filled out address and stuff but then it asks for a picture of my driving licence(or other picture ID) Seems a bit OTT for a mousemat. Anyone know if its genuineor not? I dont want to let just anyone have them sort of details x

I have seen lots of people post the same thing. Apparently it is their normal practice and it is genuine. Personally, if I needed a mousemat, I would buy one from poundland rather than send a copy of my driving licence.0

lol Youre right. Im not risking that just for a mouse mat.
Thanks for replying0 -
Sounds more like a fishing exercise, I wouldnt send official id on any comp less than £100 in value..Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0

Yes this is official, I have won several prizes from them including a mouse mat, coffee pod holder, webcam and stress out CD.
A photo of your ID is just to confirm you are who you say you are, if you sign up for a phone contract or similar they will ask for a copy of your photo ID and other competitions.
Your proof of address is to also check you live where you say you do as some people enter several times using different addresses etc. Just to try and win, it has to be something within a 3 months, a copy of your poll card is enough.
They will then ask you for the day, month and year of your birth, then for you to confirm the address, your prize will then be sent out and should arrive within a month.
To be honest, I wouldn't bother with the mouse mat as it is rather flimsy and not great quality, I also wouldn't bother with the stress out CD again (these prizes are often given out) I only did it as I sent the same information as I did to claim my pod holder (as it was on my shopping list)
I did however win every month I entered.
It may seem extreme for a mouse mat, but they follow the same protocol for all of their prizes as they do it through another company.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -

Why enter and then not claim a prize? Pointless as someone else could of won that and had the prizes. Slumberdown bedding, Free Cadburys chocolate bar, Jellybeans, Bioderma Cleanser, X2 Susan Boyle tickets,X3 Cushelle koala's, The hut bluetooth speaker Headphones, Henry V open air theatre tickets, playdoh set,£5000
