Seller to pay repair costs?

Hi - I bought a house a couple of months ago (completion date was 1 July). Upon getting the keys and getting tradesmen in a few issues were thrown up. The main issues being that the house was not earthed, the electric heating system was not working and also the waste pipes from the sinks were draining into the foundations. I contacted my solicitor (within the 7 days) and they approached the seller's solicitor about these issues.
My query is this: the first solicitor in the practice I spoke to told me that the seller only had to pay if the bills for repairs came to £300 combined and the solicitor who's dealing with it now says that it's £300 per bill. My electricians bill has come to £919 plus vat and the plumbers bill is £252 inc vat. I've gone from them telling me they would pursue the full amount to them saying that they can't do anything about the plumbers bill.
Due to various other errors I have no faith in these solicitors and wondered if anyone knew of or could point me in the direction of a site/notice about this? I'm in Scotland if that makes any difference 😊 TIA

You need to read your contract and tell us what the clause which mentions the £300 limit actually says. If its the Scottish Standard Clauses I think it's the aggregate of all claims.0
