cutting out the guff (only polite word i can think of) my employer has decided to change my working hours from 2pm - 7.30pm friday to 2pm - 10.00pm friday. i was notified of this on 14/09/07 and will have official notice on 15/09/07 to be signed and handed back to human resources on monday coming to say i accept. the contract i signed in may 2007 states thay can change my working hours, however the point is, how much notice does a company have to give an employee before they can enforce the change which is due to come into force on the 1st october.
ive been on the acas website but cant make head nor tail of it.
please help!
hope i have explained in ok because right now im a touch peed off.

3 weeks notice? I'd say that was reasonable enough.0

i have worked 2-10pm mon - thurs then 2-7.30pm on friday for a number of years but to inform us of this on thursday get written a form to sign on friday then hand it back in on the following monday seems a bit quick. im concerned the employers are doing it too fast for us to get advice since its coming into force on october 1st.0

My contract states that 14 days notice is required to be given. I believe this is pretty standardBaby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

But surely they can't make you increase your hours? Correct me if I'm wrong but that means they are expecting you to work an extra 2 1/2 hrs per wk. How many hrs does your contract state?0 -

What advice do you think you need? It's not complicated. They're running a full shift on Friday evening. You either want to do it or not. If you do it, you get more money, if you don't, well you don't.0
