  • So far used:

Direct Sight - Reglaze, GOLD package, 1.6, scratch resist, no reflect, UV; £25 + £6 postage.
Cut of lenses doesn't perfectly fit the frames (semi rimmed Nike), but its not obvious unless looking closely (may be slightly bent frames). They've chamfered off the edges of the lenses which is nice, the previous lenses from Glasses Direct (which I recommend from frames) were quite sharp!
Overall, would use again for the price.

However, getting main glasses reglazed so looking for a quality 1.74 index lens, any recommendations?
  • Why does it need to be so complicated to simply reglaze glasses. The options available, the hidden costs and the ludicrously low first contact offers makes the whole thing meaningless unless you go through each and every link to obtain the full quote including delivery costs.

I simply require my glasses reglazed, I have a medium high prescription so I needed the 1.6 thin option otherwise my glasses would have looked like the bottom of a glass bottle, I only wanted single vision for distance and I have full rimmed glasses. My only requirement was who was the cheapest.

I have not ordered anything and cannot comment on the quality, reliability and customer service. Please feel free to expand this to include your own options.

I did not select any other options that cost more money (they have been included free) so as of Sep/Oct 2016 who is actually the cheapest.

DirectSight is the cheapest at £30.95 (1.6 thin, Scratch Resistant, Ant Glare, UV included, Delivery Included)

I have searched 15 other companies but for some reason I can’t include a link to an image of my price comparison table AND the forum editor is a bit basic and will not allow the inclusion of tables.

Incidentally I bought my designer glasses with ce mark for £1.57 from aliexpress
  • Just used a 'new' online supplier, they've apparently been supplying the industry for 20 years? Not sure which industry, maybe demolition? My specs are ruined, my optician has checked the lense and says they're wrong to! Saved some money but now got lots of hassle to get it sorted. Should have known when they have a free phone number. don't use them, not worth the saving, lesson lernt. :-( .
    they are called reglaze4U.
