Ive signed up with an accountant to do my Self assessment, does this mean i dont get to access the online account at all to keep a check on things?

An accountant has to confirm when submitting a return that the client has seen a copy of the form before submission. Should you require anything further, clarify in the Letter of Engagement.0

You can have your own personal tax account. The accountant will put you onto their online acccount with your approval. So you both have access via your own login/accounts.0
