NRAM/Whistletree/Landmark problems

I am 2 days away from moving day and solicitor has hit a brick wall with the redemption discharge, my mortgage was meant to have been transferred from NRAM to Whistletree but the solicitor has now found that it’s been moved to a company called Landmark by mistake. This has caused issues with the land registry. All looked fine on the initial checks as it still belonged to NRAM but since then it’s been messed up.

I’m now in the position where the chain is going to collapse as my solicitor needs to have a sealed discharge but Whistletree/Landmark can’t provide this, is anyone else caught up in the same problem as the advisor from Whistletree said I was one of many getting caught out.

Soo frustrating :(

  • I sold my property which had been mortgaged with NRAM on 29th July. Whistletree had taken over on 18th July and we were told that nothing would change etc, etc.
However, when my solicitor went to redeem the mortgage it still showed as NRAM on the land register that the security was with.
25th August and it is still not resolved - I am being charged £18 per day daily rate and solicitor refusing to redeem as he cant get the discharge of security from Whistletree yet.solicitor has my money waiting to tedeem, I want I paid but cant get it done, Whistletree chasing me for payment and I am stuck in the middle not able to make anything right! Awful!
  • Hope you got it sorted in the end, We ended up getting Whistletree and Landmark to draw up a document so that our solicitor was happy there was a legal link between them in order to discharge to the correct security holder.

We were 30mins away from my solicitor pulling the plug on my sale and in turn the purchase but Whistletree eventually got it resolved after a complaint and lots of pressure!!!

It is going to have a big impact on all NRAM customers for the next few months...
