Bluestone Issue - May have affected others?

Hi all,
I had a default with a car loan that was bought by Bluestone Debt Management back in 2010. I have never missed a repayment whist I was on a DMP with Stepchange. I am still making payments so my account is still "active" with them. The default date was in 06/10 so it had dropped off my credit file recently along with all my other defualts from the same period. Today I check my file and see they have re-issued a default against me from June 2016.
I have called them up and they said they were "looking into it" and that I wasnt the only person this has happened to. So if you also have had a default from them please double check because they sure hadn't let me know they had done this so wont have told you either.
Where do I stand with this? Can I ask them to remove everything from my file completely? Come January next year all my defaults and late payments would have gone from my file and I was looking at getting a mortgage with the Mrs. Clearly this new default has wrecked my credit score right now, not to bothered by that as long as it gets sorted. Can they leave the new default on there at all or have i been really screwed here?
Thanks for reading, and in advance for any help.

Hi Red Alert
Welcome to the forum and thanks for your post.
The new default they've added shouldn't be on your credit report at all, so ask them to remove it completely. The original default was the correct date and dropped off after 6 years. They shouldn't just put a new one on there.
