                    Hi,
Apologies if this has been on before but am in mad hurry and no time to look
We are going away tonight and I have just remembered the bowl of home grown tomatoes that my mum gave me on Tues. Can I just bung them in the freezer whole or do I have to skin them/cook them first?
I really don't want to waste them as they are very tasty and there are loads.
Thanks in advance for help.:T

It does say they will be mushy once defrosted though!

Where ya going Mrs_P? If you're passing, I like tomatoes.
I'll swap you some for a bit o' carrot cake...I've got one in the oven now.... If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

That's a very informative link, thanks Sarah :T
I also freeze them in their skins (although it hadn't occured to me to 'core' them first, which is good idea).
Cherry tomatoes - I then roast them (from frozen) with other veg (fresh or frozen)
Larger toms - I freeze in skin. I then skin them as it suggests (under running water) then use them whilst still semi-frozen as a replacement for tinned whole plum tomatoes.0

I have done this mrs pp - they're only good enough for sauces and soups etc and a doddle to peel - you just sort of defrost them and squish out the insides - bit messy and gory but better than wasting them.
Mr BE - did i miss a bake-along or are you flying solo these days?I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080

I promised my mates I'd make one for a party on Saturday. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
