Can I remortgage if I no longer work but husband pays?

Hi there,
I would like to know whether anyone out there can help me with this.
I took out a mortgage in my own name 4 years ago. Since then I have married and had a baby. I no longer work and receive an income but my husband has been paying the mortgage for the last two years.
My mortgage deal is coming to an end and I want to remortgage to a better deal with another company. However, they require proof of income which obviously I do not have as I am not currently working.
It seems my only option is to stay with my current mortgage provider and switch to another deal with them... or pay some fees to add my husband's name to the mortgage and use his income to get a better deal.
Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to add my husbands name or whether there is any other way around it?
