hi ppl. i got a major problem my tentacy is up on the 25 of SEP and then we have to move out of our flat, Me and my misses found a house to rent and applied for it, then today i got a call saying that cant go through with it cause i got an IVA i got bad credit history. Now i have 2 weeks to look for somewhere to live and i wont get excepted cause i got an IVA.
I'm a lorry driver i'm on a temp to perm with a company when i go full time which is anytime now i'll be on £26,500 pa, and my misses is on £15k pa.
i have asked the landlord if i can stay on at the property and he said no as he has some1 ready to move in and they have given their notice on their place.
Is there anyway round this, i thought an IVA is suppose to help you, i cant even rent a house and my misses is not on enough money to do it on her own
HELP ME SOMEONE!!!!
what can i do????

I really feel for you on this, I cannot advise as I have no experience on this, Can you not apply for council accomodation, i know you have to go on a list but surely they could house you tempory till something comes up or at least give you some advice on what to do. Have you any family or mates that could help? Dont worry someone will be on soon that could be more use than me. good luck anyway.xxxxxxx0

Hey,
Have you tried looking through your local papers, rather than using a letting agency? Private landlords advertising in papers dont tend to do a credit check. I've rented a lot of different places in the past few years and the only ones to credit check were Letting Agents.
Hope that helps, good luck

Hi there. As the previous poster suggested, try private landlords.I am moving at the moment and with newly acquired defaults wont even bother with an agency but most private landlords dont bother with credit checks so that suits me.Give it a go.Good luck.0

Try www.gumtree.com, lots of private landlords on there.0

This time of year, as a last resort, have a look at holiday flats/caravans. You can probably pick one up a bit cheap for a month to get you more time.
As it is "out of season", you could cut a cheaper deal with the owner hopefully.0 -
I would as well suggest gumtree.com and local papers looking for private landlords!
Good Luck with it!LBM(23/07/07):17603.84 Balance Now(30/09/07): 16763.57

I hope you do find a private landlord but don't pin all your hopes on this. Landlords get insurance against people not paying them and in order for this to be valid they need a credit search so it is possible for a private landlord on there own to still credit check.
When I worked in an estate agents we used to get loads of people failing checks most of them get a family member to stand guarantor is this not possible for you at all?0 -
Private renting is definitely the way to go, you're less likely to be asked for a credit check this way. I've been renting privately for over 10 years now and have never been asked for a credit check to be done. I've sometimes had to show proof of income but that's it.
Certainly worth trying.0 -
i'll check that out, just 1 more thing, we just fed up now, i'm a lorry driver and we just want to move somewhere and make a new start, but i want to know what area pays the best rates, how do i find this out?0
