My daughter loves their yellowfin tuna steaks. She loves tuna anyway but has said this is the best she has tasted, by farThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0

I`d go for there muffins, with the free coffee then just have a browse if your looking just for a treat. The fresh fish counter is excellent.Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.0

my naughty treat is waitrose essentials profiteroles.
That made me laugh. Surely a contradiction in terms there!:rotfl:They also have a laundry liquid for dark clothes eg black jeans
I'd second that. They do a black one and a dark/denim one. It's paid for itself over and over as previously black jeans looked scruffy after just a couple of washes.0 -
I went to Waitrose once, I came out with their free inhouse newspaper.
Didn't buy anything, too expensive.
IlonaI love skip diving.0 -
For those who said get a My Waitrose card, I agree. If I know I am going, I go on and pick my discounts (as I said, I rarely go and don't get a great deal, but will get what discount I can).
Anyway - 2-3 times a year they send you decent vouchers. We got booze for a family do much cheaper than anywhere by a combination of offers and vouchers.0 -
Have you grabbed that free cup of tea yet?0

No harm, I got my wedding catered by waitrose many moons back - exactly. Things change. and no complaints, but seriously, unless you are getting reduced items, it's the same as most supermarkets - opinion is subjective.
We don't have waitrose in this country, yet I can buy waitrose products for pennies at the chicken processing factory shop and the meat processing shop
It's the same meat and chickens that are supplied to sainsburys, tesco, morrisons and all the rest of the supermarkets. Just different labels - Not so. Befriend some Waitrose buyers and partners, listen and learn.
Waitrose is a lovely shopping experience but seriously, they get the same meat and veg from the same places as the rest of the supermarkets
No, they don't.
Way back in the 70's - needs no comment I was receiving produce which was labelled waitrose and marks, I worked for sainsburys. Nothing has changed

Not attacking you, unv, just responding accurately to your post.
State of flux is the norm for all on our planet these days:D.
In &land, living very very very well on ditto little is achieved via emporium, happy haggles at Meat counter - 'what's the best those can be if I take all of them....?' Great fun and style, also mixed with same@Mr T.
Everybody can do well enough on very little - and spoils shared en route back is even better.
My Waitrose card is excellent - guaranteed free drink daily [ shame we've lost the automatic sitdown and shortbread discs, but tralala, Pay 30p top-up at Caf! and you can sit down still]
REMEMBER THAT THE COST OF DRINK[£2.15 for cappuccino]AND FREE NEWSPAPER IS PART OF THE QUALIFYING £5 DAILY SPEND/£10 AT WEEKENDS.
Happy days are possible wherever you go. Things change constantly. Mr T is having a long slow difficult haul back via good new CEO. One consequence is latest extreme pruning of ranges.
2 weeks back, Mgr, knowing my OAP budget but also widespread distribution network, said 'Follow me!' I had queried the absence of own-brand baking powder, surely a basic core item, or so I had thought. But no, now Dr Oetker's[another got-up nomenclature, as per Haagen Daz and Ploughman's Lunch]
Then spent mid-£30s for nearing £500-worth of grox, inc caviar!, red salmon at 11p per tin, Whitworth's chopped and flaked almonds@3p, loads of Finest wotnot, pastas, virgin olive oils...all sorts and all wonderfully received, some v.v. timely indeed.
It's all a great game. It IS still possible to win, also with John Seymour's wise words: 'Eat sensibly, not too much, mostly vegetables.'

Seconded GlasWeJen and Maman :-))))))))) - I will always think 'Hmmmm, some ESSENTIAL profiteroles methinks' henceforth.

Nope... it sounds ok to me!
I love their free tea/coffee with the my waitrose card.
I like their green bottle carrier bags, they're not cheap, but they do last for ages.
The jazz apples are my absolute favourite - it's like eating peardrop, they're so sweet and tasty.
I love their baking aisle and items that you can't get elsewhere... just be aware of spending a fortune and ending up with a basket full of nonsensical items... gold leaf and popping candy anyone?0 -
That made me laugh. Surely a contradiction in terms there!:rotfl:
My favourite is Waitrose Essential Ironing Water
