260cm Wide Bedding Fabric,cheapest Possible

Posted this earlier today - perhaps better here:

Does anyone know where I might obtain fabric at least 2.60cm wide, to make sheets for a wonderful Hulsta bed 2m wide, 2.1m long)acquired from Freecycle?
I can make, adapt etc. - had thought of adding tuck-ins both sides, head and foot, to normal bedding, cut from other sheets.
I see nothing on ebay - probably not putting in suitable terms.
Googling for sheet fabric doesn't help either - I'd thought there would be factory/outlet addresses, as for the cheap knitting wool that has been offered on current relevant thread.
Found one, but it seems to have died - Astle's, with auctions in Bolton;email for further info returned by Daemon Mailer
Any suggestions please?

Hello ampersand - whereabouts are you?

Have you ever heard of Abakhan Fabrics - they do have some branches round the north-west.

    http://www.abakhan.co.uk/branch_location.asp

They sell sheeting but I'm not sure what widths.

In the Liverpool shop (not sure about other branches) they sell remnants by the kilo (ie weighed instead of measured) and usually the pieces are huge.

If there is one near to you - it may be worth your while giving them a call.

Other possibility is to try Ikea - their bedding sizes are different from standard ones - you never know.

    Good Luck

    Hi

Have you tried your local fabric shop, ours do rolls of sheeting fabric polycottons I think and in loads of different colours. I once had a bed from Ikea that was 6' wide and 6' 10" long and just got the linen from them.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
  • There's some on Ebay:

This seller regularly has sheeting. Never used them myself.

    Hope this helps

Sorry kazmeister - live in a small village and there's nothing like that, or similar market, anywhere near that I know of.
    Thankyou anyway.

    I Googled
    260cm 108" wide fabric
and got a few hits. I specified UK only but quite a few were priced in dollars.

Mmm - I was not sure what sort of terms to put in - 260cm got me nowhere.
I've saved a couple of the suppliers to follow up - many thanks to all.

    Have you contacted Croft Mill?

    http://www.croftmill.co.uk/

The web site does not have an on-line catalogue but does give the phone number. They are very helpful and may be able to meet your needs.
    The catalogue is great!
