iTunes won't update - RESOLVED
Oblivion

My wife has a Dell laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
iTunes has not been updated for quite some time ... it is still on version 12.2.1.16 and when I tried to update it to the latest version 12.4.3 instead of doing it 'internally' as I am used to, it takes me to the Apple website for a fresh download.
So I tried installing from there ... it seems to start ok and then reports it has encountered a problem because an installer is missing whatever that means. I've tried it several times with the same result.
The only route I can think of at the moment is to uninstall the present version of iTunes and start afresh BUT how do I do that without losing all her music etc.?

Well I found the solution and for anyone faced with the same problem, simply go into Control Panel > select Programs & Features > look for the Apple Software Updater and right click on it and select Repair. Then it all worked and updated ok. :j... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0
