Hi everyone!
As the title says, I've been lurking around for perhaps years (on and off), and thought it was about time I joined!
I've noticed a lot of users have got their yearly wins so far in their signatures, and I'd be really grateful if everyone can give me an insight into how they won what they've won.
As far as comping goes, I've been one to enter blog competitions (Super lucky - Not sure if I can mention the names?
) as well as FB and Twitter competitions.
I'm looking for bigger and better now, so I've been targetting other sites now which I came to know of through Super Lucky ( Competition Database for example).
I made the mistake of joining My Offers (prior to reading Di's advice about them!!). Needless to say, I had to download Trucaller on my mobile phone!:mad:
I'm now worried I may miss "the call" as I'm disregarding most calls because they're either scam or spam- or both! Trucaller usually shows you who's calling, which is good and useful, but you just never know.
I've also been receiving calls from a mobile number which just comes up as a mobile number on Trucaller, so noone has reported it as spam or scam or junk etc.. BUT when I tried calling back, it says "the number you have called ha snot been recognised!!"
Anyway, that's moi. :A

Best thing I can suggest is to have a bloody good read of this, then read it again once you've been on the boards a little while.

If you're using lots of sites, it's hard to know what you have and haven't entered so I suggest sticking with one. Often you're either disqualified or just wasting your time entering more than once as they only count one.
Don't comment on comps, that's really frowned upon as it bumps them and is a pain for those entering in order.
Use the ticks and crosses (explained in the guide).
We get a lot of the same questions here on the Chat Corner, and it's not a particularly busy section so it's def worth reading all the comments for the last few pages to see what's been suggested/discussed previously.
Good luck

Hi Hazyjo,
Thank you for your warm welcome and valuable advice. Really appreciated.
I'll have a good read through that link, thank you. :j0 -
All the comps are in this forum

As you are getting a large number of unwanted calls, perhaps you should consider changing your number and only giving it to those companies where you have read their privacy terms.0

Thank you for the link DynasticDux. I've been entering the ones posted there since yesterday. :j
Is this how most users here are making their wins by entering competitions posted in that forum?0 -
Marg2k8 - thank you for your thoughts. I'm a lot happier after installing the app. It does a very good job, I must say.0

I had a play with My Offers last year, have not had a single phone call as a result and won several small prizes - You just have to be careful which competitions you enter and which permission boxes need ticking/unticking.0 -
Hi Tr4ve11er,
Welcome to the world of comping!
Re "Is this how most users here are making their wins by entering competitions posted in that forum?"
this is how I comp:
1) Keep up to date on MSE comp board, this is my first port of call for all comps.
2) Do Mag dailies
3) Use Competition database for TW comps. (It is impossible to dupe with these and as most have a small window for entries MSE does miss quite a few)
4) Catch up on FB tags from fellow compers (It helps to build a network of like minded people especially for local comps on here)
5) Use Super Lucky site for blog comp links (easier for me to select prizes I want from Di's list)
6) Check for wins on FB/TW and google
7) Search for new comps on TW/Insta and Google. (again esp for local ones, use Super Lucky for tips on searching)
8) Post comps on mse if I find any not listed.
Everyone works differently, but this is pretty much my routine. I rarely get as far as 7 & 8 and lots of days I just do 1 & 2.
good luck!total wins 2013 £5500 2014 £7500 2015 £23,900 2016 £10,650 2017 £13,040 2018 £10,620 2019 £10,115 2020 £3970.00

Oh wow, congratulations to you on your wins with My Offers! I've seen Di refer to them as a spam generating website.. I have to say I agree as I didn't notice any tick boxes at all upon entering the competitions I entered- unless there was something I totally missed upon initial sign up?

Thank you so much for your warm welcome and for taking the time to explain how you comp! :j:T
AND a huge congratulations on your fantastic huge wins so far (your signature):T
I used to just exclusively stick to the blog Linkys on Di's Super Lucky too because I liked that I could choose which prizes I wanted to try and win.
Coincidentally, I recently looked at Di's search tips as well! So I've started doing that too, and I'm now a regular on MSE comps too.
I especially like TW comps because they're quick to enter and are hassle free usually, so thank you for your tip on using Competition Database for that.0
