How to store important documents

Hello!
I want to store my bank statements and other important documents so that my landlady and potentially others won't be able to view them (there is no lock in the room).
Where can I store them? I don't want to buy a box with a locker, as people will believe something valuable is in there and they will steal it
any idea?
thanks!

Find a cheap padlock and a bag that has a zip that can be padlocked shut. If the padlock looks really cheap, no one will think that there is anything really valuable in the bag.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

How about going paperless, request your bank statements, bills etc online. Store the documents online.More0

So it would be safe to store them in the room if they are around all the time ?
Or have you more than one room , I'm not sure you would be sharing one room with 2 children ?Ex forum ambassador

Put the documents into sealed envelopes or a parcel if there is a lot of them.
That was something that I did when in a flat share many years ago, I also put my name and parents address on them but no stamp. They were never touched all the time I was there0 -
Just put a match to them - that'll ensure nobody else can read them!Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
