Husbands pension

I have been married since 2006 and I know it sounds ridiculous but I have never given this any thought. My husband has paid monthly into a private pension with Canada life since 2004. It is something that gets paid but no thought is given to it. I don't think he ever told them We had got married. If he was to die either now or when in retirement would I automatically get money from the pension fund or would I not be covered because he hasn't told them he got married. Can't find any info in the house and husband showing a lack of interest when I ask.

He needs to contact them and fill out a form to name you as the beneficiary assuming that's what he wants of course. Very easy thing to arrange.
