received court letter for ex-partner

hi
I received a court letter from PO Box 300 NN1 2TX for ex partner debt dating back to 1998
I have been returning these letters to Arrow (debt collector referred to on court paperwork) for over a year stating 'person not known at this address' etc. Sometimes enclosing their letter, and putting in writing 'this person does not reside at this address, I do not have a forwarding address'
is it best to return the court forms, along with letters I have sent to Arrow informing them that ex does not reside with me, and copy into the solicitor mentioned on the court paperwork, again explaining that I have for over a year explained that my ex does not reside here?
thanks for help in advance

That's the County Court Bulk Centre
Won't make a lot of difference what you do.
They can take court action against someone at the last known address. This is probably getting near the six-year point so they are just trying to secure their position.0 -
Hi omega3dave
The debt may even be over six years old, in which case your ex may have been able to dispute the court claim - had it reached them. As it stands, this will end up becoming a county court judgment recorded against your ex for six years, and it will affect any credit applications they may make during that time.
It's also worth stressing that these proceedings don't affect your address in any way. Assuming that your own credit report does not have/retain any connections with that of your ex, these matters won't impact on your ability to borrow.
As fatbelly says, not a lot you can do here.

Dennis makes a couple of good points .
If you haven't checked your credit file recently, now is a good time to do so and remove any links to your ex. A £2 statutory report will do the job, from Equifax and Experian.0 -
thanks for replies, I will get a credit report0
