Whilst admirable that you don't want to rush into a DMP and feel you want to tackle it head on, you really only have two options with that income and level of debt:
Move in with the parents
Go on a DMP
I really do think it is as simple as that.0 -
In rough terms, either of those options should see you debt free in 2.5 years, one with the complications that come with sharing a house with parents/in-laws; the other with marks on your credit file.
To find a third option (not insolvency as things stand - too much surplus income) is probably going to take a lot longer to see you debt-free.
The debt camel article I linked to earlier applies to you I think:Be honest with yourself – if you pay a chunk off that credit card, is your overdraft just going to get bigger? I you don’t think you can ever clear your debts by making the normal payments, you have to find a debt solution even though it will harm your credit rating. If you don’t, you are going to be in the same situation in five years time – lots of debt and no closer to buying a house.0
