@sangie595 I heard your opinion. Thank you very much. Now, will you allow me to hear the different opinions?0

@sangie595 I'll take a note and wait to hear from people who suffered from identity fraud, also from the data professionals. They are much smaller group with a different mentality thanks to their professional background or hurtful life experience, with an expert opinion for me.0

So you only want people to post who agree with your bizarre theories? Good luck with that.0

It's funny, as well as many other posting similarities from other first timers there's the tone and indignation that seems to be consistent, almost as if it was the same person. So many coincidences.
But, for the question, maybe try researching the legitimacy of anyone you send your passport to upfront instead of worrying about it later? Elite-global_jobs-london6.co.ng as a website, or barristerdavidrecruitment32@gmail.com are worrying signs, uploading direct to reed, etc are more reliable.0 -

.
Yes, I had noticed that too. Plus an unreasonable concentration on attacking me personally, even when I'm not posting, to the exclusion of anyone else saying exactly the same thing. Anyone might think that someone is promoting a deliberate campaign against me. But that would be bullying, and since none of these random first timers would have a reason to do that....
Aggrinall, would you pass the tin hat this way please?0 -

It's a clumsy lead in, but stick with it0 -
What's more, some of them (agents) are not even using their real names.
@paddyrg Thanks, yes, this is a common sense to be suspicious about gmail.com and trust reed.co.uk. Anything in between gives me a headache. It becomes a common practice for them to demand documents upfront, on the first contact: "if you want to apply send me a copy of your proof to work in the UK... passport". I just don't want to broadcast a copy of my passport over the internet, over and over, and over again. And I don't want to miss a job opportunity either. So I am looking for someone smarter than I, who can share what they do in such situation.
It's disappointing the most response I get on this forum is from talk-talkers who don't even get it.0 -
I suppose you could always respond and tell them that your passport etc. will be provided when you are invited for an interview. Although of course the agent could simply refuse to deal with your application if they are not happy.0
-
You can often tell more about a company with some deep research, but I agree you're wary to be suspicious of anyone wanting your passport. I'd refuse to provide it until after the first interview.0
