Hi folks,
just after some advice please, I've read the sticky at the top of the page but I guess like most people... I believe it's correct but when it comes to my own hard earned cash I still want to be totally sure.
I was in Newcastle a few weeks ago for a course and parked in the newcastle central car park that doubles as a travelodge car park, I paid for 4 hours and was only there 3 1/2, I wasn't parked in a travelodge guests only space and thought nothing of it since I had paid so tossed the ticket.
I've just received a letter saying I didn't pay and owe them money.
I was going to write an appeal but a lot of the stuff here says to not say who the driver is etc so just really want to make sure what's the best course of action to get out of paying these scum any money?
Thank you in advance.

use the blue text template in that sticky
do not name the driver
in future keep your paid for stubs as proof of payment, maybe for 6 to 12 months , or longer0 -
Write bad stuff on tripadvisor/facebook/Booking.com etc under an assumed name. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Hi,
Sorry to follow but the blue text says that the text and signage isn't adequate whereas I was aware it was a parking ticket zone and am disputing the fact because I did actually pay for the ticket (I can't prove it but the machine should show me reg as having a ticket purchased).
I've contacted Travelodge who have washed their hands of it saying none of their business.
Do I still just use the blue text?
Thank you0 -
Yes you do just use the blue text. The signage is NOT adequate notice of the parking charge.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
