Council tax arrears

Hi was hoping someone could advise.
My partner and I have just made a mortgage application. After application we were looking through bank statements and realised he did not tell the mortgage advisor about council tax arrears he had at a previous property. He has only one payment left to make.
Have we doomed our application?

Council Tax arrears are known only to you, the council and any court who happened to issue a summons/liability order - they are not recorded on a credit record so they'd never know unless you told them.
CraigI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
I'm just concerned they will ask what the direct debit every month is for as they will see it on his bank statements. Stress!0
