Help with Meal plan/how long SHOULD this last!

Hi all!

Ive been a bit awol for a while but I'm back!

I'll be receiving a Musclefood order tomorrow which I managed to get for £40 delivered (I had an apology code to use which they manually put into it so I could use another code too!)

I just need to help with a meal plan or how long this should all last me!

We're a family of 4 but my 2 kids only eat 1 adult portion between them really (5 and 2 1/2)

Here's the list of what I'll be getting. I'll be bagging the chicken breast into 2-3 Breasts in the freezer.

· 1 x Premium Skinless Chicken Breasts - 2.5 kg
· 1 x 2 x 6-7oz Irish Grass Fed Rump Steaks
· 1 x 2 x 6-7oz New York Strip Steaks
· 1 x Pork Medallion Steaks - 4 x 100g
· 2 x Chicken Mini Fillets - 400g-400g
· 2 x Extra Lean British Beef Mince - 400g
· 1 x Extra Lean Steak Burgers - 2 x 4oz
· 1 x 2 x 4oz Extra Lean Chicken Burgers
· 1 x Low Fat Pork Sausages - 454g
· 1 x Low Fat Pork Chilli and Garlic Sausages-454g
· 1 x Lean Chicken Meatballs - 360g-12 x 30g

I have a fair amount of frozen veg already and a lot of passata and a jar of sweet and sour sauce I got off my mum because she doesn't use it!
I'll be doing a weekly shop still but hopeful to be able to avoid 'meat' shopping for a month?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Nice to see you back :):j
The chicken meat balls would make 2 meals if you make 3 an adult portion and half that for the little ones. Then I'd chop the remaining 3 up for a pizza topping for the second meal.

The sausages would be one meal each packet unless you bulked them out by doing toad in the whole etc.

The chicken/beef burgers would only do one meal for the adults, little ones could have a different meal.

The beef mince would get you 4 meals at least

The chicken fillets would get you 2 if you chopped them up in to stir frys, curries etc

Pork medallions 2 also by chopping them up in to stir fries, fried rice, jambalaya type meals.

You'd get 6 meals out of the chicken breasts

2-3 meals out of the steaks.

So around 23 meals. You could stretch it to more by padding out with lentils and veg but I'd be careful of the protein content if you do that.

    Great thankyou!
I'm going to add one meat free day a week too so should just about last us the month!
Just need to write this meal plan out and get the rest of the cupboard stuff (if I don't already have it!)

So 6kg meat products in total? Or have I completely worked that out incorrectly?

In theory, you only 'need' 80g of meat per person, so 240g a day, so it could last 25 meat eating days.

And I've just realised that's pretty close to a previous suggestion of 23 days.

    Yes! Brilliant. Thankyou!

If I add beans to a cottage pie I can make it go further because beans have protein?

Yes that would be a great option for extending your protein intake. Most types of beans, chickpeas, lentils, and quinoa are all excellent sources for added protein and are very useful as extenders too.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.
