loans after retirement
Hi guys a bit of advice please, we have just recently retired, after selling our business, after paying off our two mortgages, and other commitments we have some cash left, but her in doors fancy's a kitchen, so I need to borrow about 6-£7,000 my Experian score is 895 , as I said both retired now my wife is 66,i am 67,our combined income Is around 15,00 PA, I look on one that indicated subject statues would get one, only trouble was it did not give an option to state my working statues, IE retired, so I did not proceed ,what should I do, Thanks, Sido

If you can convince a lender that you can afford the repayments I don't see a problem.0

You will unfortunately have issues relating to age your best bet might be a cash transfer credit card0

So as a long term business holder, then selling up, you dont have £7K, but want a loan. No chance IMO sorry.0

Experian rate you so highly so speak to them about the loan.0

Hi. Is it that you wife fancies a new kitchen, or does she actually need one? Seems daft to get into debt at your age. You say you have some cash left, is it enough to do a makeover, updating parts of your kitchen, new doors, new sink, lick of paint.
I am 67 (no mortgage), and fancy getting my driveway resurfaced, but I am not going to splash out on that. It might have a few weeds sprouting through the hotchpotch concrete, but I can put up with that.
You can tart your kitchen up quite cheaply, have a discussion with your wife. Spend your money on pleasurable experiences, live a little, before you bow out of this world. What do you want on your gravestones, they had a belting life, or, they had a nice kitchen.)
