After Brexit truly kicks in the £ will eventually reach a balanced value. It should ideally be based on our trading balance - if people are overconfident that the £ is an 'investment' then it'll be overvalued, (cheap holidays and unemployment, yippee!), if they lose confidence because us f-e-ckess Brits as a group spend more than we earn in the this world, it'll fall.
As long as it's not seen as a 'safety' currency like the Swiss Franc is, it should eventually reach that goldilocks level.
Perhaps pre-Brexit it was seen as such a safety currency - outside of the madness that's the Euro yet inside the EU border.

Economic literacy's been mentioned. Pot, kettle, glass houses & all that.

But I understand that there are an incredible amount of altruistic brexit voters around who are very concerned about our exporters and are happy to sacrifice their own purchasing power for big business.

People voted Leave for a diverse range of reasons. The one thing we all had in common is that we believe that in the long term we will be better off outside the EU.

I'm sorry but this is just such a load of garbage. How do you know that the goldilocks level is down or up from where we were last year or right now, or whenever? I love how everyone is suddenly an expert on our trade imbalances and the nuances of currency policy.

I voted to remain because I thought long term we would be better off inside the EU and so would other Europeans (now the snake oil salesman will be along to tell me how much I hate Africans).

So we have that in common. What we don't have in common is being an expert on the correct exchange rate for the Pound and being overly opinionated about how grand it is for our exporters.

just as the white folk of selma voted for other white folk because the thought they would be better off in the long term?
It would be absolutely outrageous to suggest they had anything against non-white christian folk.

And of course you don't know the correct rate for the pound but that doesn't stop you posting childish nonsense being lower is awful.
