Removing a name

Hi
I'm with Paratus amc for my mortgage. I originally had it with gmac then Paratus took it over about 4 years ago. Originally the mortgage was in my name but when I got married I added my wife onto it for a £50 admin fee. Now 9 years later I am getting divorced we have agreed a settlement figure. But now am wanting her name removed but Paratus are saying no as they cannot transfer equity. I've looked in to re mortgaging but my credit rating is poor.
Surely there must be a way I can get her name removed without having to sell or re mortgage like Paratus say
Many thanks
Ben

The only way you can get her name removed would be if you remortgage in your own name, which of course is subject to affordability criteria.
The lender is never going to give up having 2 people jointly and severally liable for a debt and replace this with just one person with a less than optimal credit rating.0 -
Yer looked at that but no go I do have my current partner who says she will quite happily go on mortgage but both our credit ratings are rubbish0
