Draft letter to the SRA

I am probably wasting my time, but I am accused of having too much anyway. Any comments please?
Dear SRA
I wish to bring to your attention the names of several firms of solicitors whom I believe are acting unethically, and bringing your profession into disrepute.
Their names are (
Here I will list the usual suspects)
All of these firms act for Private Parking Companies, many of whom use threatening tactics unlawful means, and deceit to obtain monies to which they have no entitlement. Indeed one, company, former clampers UKPC has admitted tampering with evidence and was suspended by the DVLA from accessing registered keeper data.
Some of these solicitors have been severely criticised by judges, one such was at S!!!!horpe (oops) County Court where a solicitor, Miss Coates, was threatened with imprisonment by the Judge, (VCS v Ibbotson, 1 SE098490) . Another solicitor. Michael Swartz has already come to your attention. It is believed he is ignoring the restrictions you placed on his licence to practice, and is still acting for a PPC.
I am sure that you are aware of this these wrongdoings as you will have had many complaints from victims, but I will remind you what they get up to:
inappropriately quoting Beavis v Parking Eye, sending misleading information about CCJs to appellants, claiming fees for more than the Law allows, refusing to answer perfectly valid questions, delaying the sending of documents to appellants, issung non-compliant LBAs, issuing court papers then backing down at the last moment, failing to carry out due diligence, charging their clients for shoddy work.
All of the foregoing is probably well known to you, but you appear to be turning a blind eye.
There has been a spate of claims recently against registered keepers for events which took place before POFA introduced keeper liability.
All of this is well documented on the internet on Money Saving Expert, Peppipoo, Legal Eagles, The No to Mob, and The Parking Prankster, Consumer Action Group, and many more.
The PPCs are not acting in the public interest and often in defiance of the will of Parliament, one firm in particular appears to be targeting the disabled . They are causing severe distress to the victims, many of whom are old a vulnerable. I believe that there has been at least one suicide because of such harassment
At present, being a solicitor is regarded by the public as an honourable profession, but that could change unless you put your house in order.

Well done on taking this to them, TD. Looks good to me.
You seem to be on a bit of a roll this morning. Has the memsahib been putting anything in your breakfast cuppa? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Do not forget to copy your MP in to this letter. Then state you will be consulting your MP regarding their response.0

Well done TD, just needs proof reading for the odd typo, probably will be arrogantly brushed aside of course, but can't do any harm.
I see MP Pickles has another job now in Parliament so his bluster about sorting out the parking industry has like many of his promises blown out of his vast backside!0 -
Fair enough start, TD.
Do list all the Swartz variant spellings in your letter.
Haven't been about, nor looking at much mse of late, but was intrigued, then shocked, to read of the grubby and shabby treatment which is being accorded to coupon-mad, Queen of these Threads.

Do proof-read please, as fj says :-)

- à propos of not very much, except as triggered by your excellent pickles def.n, fj, went to hear Owen Smith at CRUFC last night and dare to hope again.
Strong sense of J B Priestley about him, likable, acute intelligence, empathetic but no pushover., showed all the intellectual and governance attributes I want to see and know.

I've been in correspondence this week with the SRA in regards to MS/CEL - allegedly it's all above board.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

I am also concerned about the solicitors/barristers/legal experts used by IPC members known as the IAS.
As far as I am aware we do not know their names or the solicitors firms they work for so the right to complain about them to the SRA has been taken away.
I would really like to "get at" these guys somehow, they seem untouchable!!
I have complained to the IPC about this but no joy

Without a Supervising Principal, he's not allowed to act as a solicitor.
If he does anything that a solicitor has to do, such as sign a claim form for a represented company, or sign particulars as a company solicitor, then he is breaking the terms of his Practising certificate.0 -
With a letter of complaint about how a professional is operating highlight to their professional body how their member's behaviour is not in line with the professional body's codes of practice.
I don't know how tough the SRA is on members, but I do know that in the last couple of months the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors have expelled about 200 members for not abiding by their Codes of Practice.0
