I'm going to Dublin for the day on 6 September a Tuesday and I'm taking my 18 year old. Going on the train from Belfast and fancy staying a night.
Does anyone have recommendations of somewhere central reasonably priced that also does beakfast?

Download the "Hotel Tonight" app.
Usually used for last minute bookings, where you could get a bargain room, as the name of the app suggests, though you can book up to a week in advance for peace of mind.
Not sure about breakfast, may be worthwhile just looking for a cafe instead.0 -
Gibson Hotel but probably not the most reasonably priced0

Personally recommend The Mespil Hotel, in a good location and easy walk to St Stephens Green and Grafton Street area. Good restaurants and bars nearby. http://www.mespilhotel.com/
I'm guessing there must be something big on as the rates for your date are way above what I would normally pay - often get a room for £89 per night.0 -
Oh I hope there isn't a big event this is just a birthday treat!0
