Is the LL breaching "The Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015?" Do the smoke alarms need to be replaced just because they are over 10 years old? Surely the important thing is that they work?
How have you contracted your landlord about the repairs? In writing to the address for the serving of notices given in your tenancy agreement.
No, nothing you've said so far means that you can end your tenancy during the fixed term.0 -
            Do the smoke alarms work?
Do the carbon monoxide alarms work?
The landlord must keep these in working order and have them checked regularly.0 -

Not a link to the legislation. I want the link to the part that specifies this:The landlord must keep these in working order and have them checked regularly.
Or, you can copy and paste it for me.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Both links contain the part that specifies this.
I can't find it in the 1st link(searched for the word regularly), and the 2nd link doesn't work for me.
Hence me saying:
Or, you can copy and paste it for me.
Failing that, tell me which part of the legislation you are referring to(i.e Part 4 Sec 7).Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
You used the past tense in regards to the appliances not working.
Are you saying they are still not working?
They have not worked since I moved in! I raised this with the landlord in November, two weeks after moving in. He is finally looking to get something done, but the constant chasing over ten months has made me want to move on.0
