more info on ipods?

ds would like ipod video for xmas. i dont even know what this model is called as after looking through sites looks as though they all, bar the shuffle, have the video bit. so firstly would like to know proper name of what i am looking for. dd1 bought hers years ago when first out and i know hers no longer available to buy new. ds has said cheapest one he has found is in dixons for £159.99 which i bit expensive as wanted to get him other bits too and at this price will be impossible. have very small family and besides me and 2 daughters he will not not get any other pressies so need to shop around to try and get few parcels under tree. so besides proper name need to know if there are any deals elsewhere which will make it cheaper (ie via discount codes or special offers) i am also lucky that a friend is going to new york next month so getting one there also a possibility if it would be lot cheaper? any advice greatly appreciated

It really depends on what it will be used for. If he has a lot of videos or 1000's of songs to put on there then you'll need something with a lot of room at least a 30gb video - cheapest i've seen this is in John Lewis for £149. However if he only wants music and doesn't have loads then a Nano should do. The 4gb one is currently going cheap in some places due to the new version coming out. you are looking to pay about £70 - £99 for this. Below that price the size and video get restricted. I'd suggest seeing what exactly he wants it for then coming back on here
    Barclays - Reclaiming - £3380 - stayed 30/08/07 - £2261 goodwill 20/02/09
    Abbey - Reclaiming £250 - 1st letter - stayed
    MBNA - Reclaiming £400 - received £294
    Morgan Stanley - Reclaiming £138 - received £120
    MINT - reclaiming £110 - received £90
    A&L - £170 charges - £170 back!

They have just released their new range of Nano's with Video function. The 8GB one is £129.99 from Apple and holds 2,000 songs and the 4gb one is £99.99 from Apple and holds 1,000 songs.
