Does Amazon price match Marketplace?

Amazon has the item I want listed at £115, Marketplace seller £95. Has anybody obtained a price match by calling Amazon?

Don't think so, I think amazon would probably say 'you pays your money and you take your pick',no reason why they should sell it £20.00 cheaper if they can find someone willing to pay the asking price

I have noticed that Amazon are often not offering the cheapest price. I always look elsewhere, and have found recently that there are much better bargains than on Amazon.
I did wonder if they were "doing a Tesco" - some may remember that once Tesco had established itself in the public's mind as the cheapest supermarket, it then put its prices up, and people didn't always notice, because they weren't checking elsewhere.
  • Same here Jackyann, they are definitely not the cheapest on lots of items.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

I managed to save £25 on the price of a child's scooter by ordering from a German website. It was delivered in 3 days by courier also.

On larger items it is always worth a hunt around to check if Amazon is a good price or not.

I have spent many hours researching, using all the usual methods, and my final choice comes down to buy from Amazon for £115 or Marketplace for £95, that is why I asked, has anybody obtained a price match before by contacting Amazon?

They used to have a price match form (against other retailers, not Marketplace) but that's long gone. Their price match page basically says "we set low prices but you may find it cheaper on Marketplace" so I would say no.

Is that Market Place where companies sell on Amazon or is it a separate web site?
