Stepchange question

Good Evening,

Hoping someone can answer a quick question.
I have been on a DMP with Stepchange for a few years now with a monthly payment of £61 toward my debt which stands around 7k.
Its a constant struggle to keep my head above water, im hoping thing will improve now my youngest child is at an age which enables my wife is look for a part time job to help out.
Tonight I have been given a cheque for £1000 from my parents to help out, they have no idea of my debts but just know we are struggling due to my overtime being reduced of late.

My question is, I would like to set up an account with a building society but am concerned that stepchange would some how find out and demand this be put towards my debts!
Is there anyway they can find out? Would I need to declare that I have another account?

I would love to be in a position to put this straight towards my debt but due to having no savings and unable to save any money at present, this money will be a god send should we have any unexpected expense arise.

Thankyou in advance

Precisely - it's a buffer against emergencies and probably what your parents intended it for. Just remember not to open an account at anywhere connected to your debts.

No there is no way stepchange will know or need to know.
