Wrong registration on Penalty Notice

Hi All,
Newbie here. I received a Penalty Notice from Indigo Park Solutions for my car that was parked at a Railway Station car park. My mistake, was distracted and didn't make the call to pay.
I received a ticket, however the wrong registration number (one letter mis typed) prevented me from logging on to the system to pay the charge.
So, do I appeal on the basis of the wrong information on the ticket thereby the charge being void or do I do nothing?
Thanks

Please read the newbies FAQ sticky, near the top of the forum thread list, which will guide you through the general process of dealing with this.
You also need to understand the issues surrounding 'not relevant land' in the context of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (PoFA). Use the forum search facility with 'Indigo Railway' as your prime search term, to understand how Indigo tickets can be correctly appealed. Read recent threads - from 2016 only. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Don't do anything for now - Wait to see if you get an NTK from them. Which could be very unlikely if they have your details wrong.
And in the meantime read-up on the Newbies Sticky and the threads mentioned above to be forearmed if one does appear.
All contacting them just now will mean is that they will think you are taking them seriously and handing over your personal info and maybe identifying the driver without any good reason.
So don't make it easy for them to hassle you.0 -
Thanks Pogofish. I had a look through the newbies stickies and did some browsing before posting, on this forum and others. I was somewhat confused as to whether I have a stronger or weaker case vs council issued ticket, hence the posting.
Will sit tight and see what happens. I presume though that I potentially forego the opportunity to pay the lower amount of £60 rather than the £100 once this goes over the 14 day limit. (couldn't see anything on this in the Sticky)0 -
If they issue a NtK they have to offer the 40% 'discount' to the keeper too. But please don't be seduced by that, as with a little bit of research you can get 100% discount! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. if it actually IS a PENALTY notice then the Train Co has 6 months to take the keeper to the magistrates court (as railway byelaws apply on non-relevant railway land)
if its a PARKING charge notice then its issued incorrectly as byelaws apply and so can be fought on that basis
so depends what it actually is , hence the wait for the NTK and suss out which they are applying (I assume the second one) and appeal it afterwards using the blue text appeal only (no changes)
then its a standard popla appeal based partly on non-relevant land and not identified the driver who broke the parking rules , so should be dismissed by popla on the grounds that byelaws apply
complicated ? yes , but thats the way it is and plenty of other INDIGO threads you can read to explain it and help you0
