How does Twitter notify winners?

Hi guys, I'm sorry if this has been asked before but i just couldn't find it! How do you get notified on Twitter if you have won a comp?

You should get a couple of emithers/notifications.


It will say something like 'somebody is following you on Twitter'. Then more or less straightaway, it will say 'somebody mentioned you in conversation' or 'somebody mentioned you on Twitter'


If you click on it, then it will tell you if you've won (or sometimes, unfortunately it will be nonsense). Or same as above with the following, but it might say 'Somebody has sent you a Direct Message on Twitter' And hopefully it will be good news. Then you can come on here and tell us all about it

If you are not tagged you will need to check back to see if you have won.

Make your twitter name known in comping groups,,or ask other compers to look out for you, numerous wins I haven't been tagged, either they have screenshot or left out the @, they have even used my proper name not my twitter user name so it's a total minefield.

I actually found a win for myself, well another kind comper did when the company left out an a in my twitter name, @meisafairy is my twitter name but they spelt it @meisfairy.

That mistake thankfully was picked up by another comper and the acct meisfairy only had 2 tweets on a different language so I was ok.

Constantly checking is a nightmare especially if you enter high volumes like I do but it's the only way, that and other compers kindness in spotting your name.
