power NI bill query

power ni bill arrived in today, much higher than expected! I phoned "customer service" and after going through security checks the person told me how much my bill was and asked "what can I help with" I explained that instead of the 1364 units on the bill we had actually used 909. "How do you arrive at that?" was the response.
I said "on the 23rd May the reading was 99545" I was interrupted by "but this bill is for the period from 5th May" I replied "I know that, if you let me finish I was saying I took the reading on the day the meter was replaced" "Oh we don't have a record of that, can you give me the serial number of your meter?" Gave them the serial number and they said "OK I will report that to billing, but it won't make much difference to your bill"
"So 1364 units is the same as 909 units " I asked, "No there will be new bill issued"
No apology No explanation!
Sorry about the rant but just me careful if your meter has been changed!
N.B. The meter was replaced due to upgrade to new digital meter and please don't lecture me on how i could save money by changing suppliers etc.!

Our gas meter went faulty and was changed, they fitted a 2nd hand one then added my credit to what was already on the new one! Wasn't a lot, but better than nothing. Didn't complain!
BTW, Dave, I take it you are a lighting man?0 -
^ Thought you were a rapper ;(0
