Ebook publishing advice.

Hi all,
I have been planning to write an ebook about my hobby for a while now and I'm ready to start writing. Before I start though I would like a little advice of possible about platforms.
I like the sound of going down the kindle route as it seems like it makes things easier from what I have read, although I don't want to be limited to kindle users. Is there not a way to publish to kindle, android ebook store and also the iPhone equivalent?
Hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance

I'd say you'd be better to write the thing first. Writing a book takes a LONG time and the editing a doc to read on various E-book platforms is a final step. Most books are available in multiplatform formats. It's something to think about with your editor at proof-reading stage (which comes after context, line and copy editing.) If you are meaning to do it seriously. I'm not sure this is the right forum (let alone sub forum to help) if you're geniunely serious about this.
If you just want a quick buck, then write it and just convert the document to the various e-reader types (though by the sounds of it doing some research would be a good idea "iphone equivalent?!" )
Sorry if I don't sound supportive but writing a book isn't a quick or easy business and you sound like you've put the card before the horse... like writing your acknowledgements or designing your cover before you've written a sentence!
Write it - but write it in a word doc and worry about the editing for format when you've finished a proper edit. That's the point that authors look at line spacing and margins and things but possibly look at the MS standards for your area of expertise so you get used to seeing it in an accepted format.
