I'm hoping someone can be impartial advise?
We are beginning to look at houses but as my partner has not got the best credit rating and a default account with EE (for a measly £34), we decided I would go for the mortgage solely to make it easier and to ensure that I could get a mortgage with a decent interest rate (my credit rating is excellent:j).
I have just been into Connell's the estate agents this morning and they have said to me that a lot of banks won't even consider me because I am associated with my partner (as we have a joint account) and this means they will look at his file as well??
I am aware that he would be living in the house but surely my wages and me getting a sole mortgage means that his credit file shouldn't be even be considered?
Help?
