Santander final approval

Hi,
We are due to exchange imminently on a repossessed shared ownership flat but our solicitors are waiting for Santander (who our mortgage is with) to give their final approval, now that all paperwork has been received and our file signed off for exchange.
Our solicitors said that they usually expect a very swift response, and we expected so too based on the fact that our initial mortgage approval only took 2 days including valuation. But now we are still waiting 5 days later.
Does anyone have any insight into what happens at this stage? Or what could be causing the hold up? Or if there's anything we can do about it? The whole process has been really drawn out so any advice much appreciated. Many thanks.

Thanks both. I don't have a contact at Santander as all has been done through brokers/solicitors, who are currently unresponsive.
They've asked Santander to approve 'the certification they require in shared ownership cases'...0 -
When did you make the last offer?0
