I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
I only spend what i can afford.
Some years that been close to £2K, other times it's been as little as £300.
This year wont be any more than £500.

i only buy for my 2 children, my younger sister and my mum.
  • It's been mentioned before but each year I buy a tin from poundland and fill it throughout the year. I only put in 50p's and higher, sometimes even the odd note.

I started using YNAB in May and so I've budgeted for xmas since then. Putting what I need aside to amount to £500. I like to get the right present and if that means costing a few more pennies then so be it. Christmas has always been a hugely important time for my family and so I don't mind it at all. Although my debt has taught me to be a bit more clever with my cash.

we have quite a lot of nephews and nieces and god children to buy for ... slowly they are reaching 18 and we stop at 18 yrs, apart from a 'token' gift.
what I have been doing for all the 'I don't know what to get/they don't NEED anything' people is something from Oxfam unwrapped or similar, so people who do need something benefit.
we probably spend about £600 or so, depends if we are home 'alone' for Christmas or at family.

well today I've been very brave, I sent emails to everyone on my Xmas card list and told them I won't be sending Xmas cards anymore though the post, as I'm helping my daughter through uni. That's about £40 saved :j

I'm planning to spend no more than £150 this year.
A simple roast dinner & some homemade mince pies.
Presents that we actually need & no aimless spending.

I'm looking forward to the simpleness of it all :)
    Kindness costs nothing :)
