Is Primark hardcase luggage sold with no padlock?

Is Primark hardcase luggage sold with no padlock?
My teen went to buy her first luggage on her own and I noticed no padlock on item. Last time I bought luggage is like too many years ago but then they were sold with inclusive padlocks, that was before Primark existed.

I have bought a few cases over the last couple of years - none of them had padlocks. I think most people get their own if they want them. The ones that used to come with cases did not seem v strong.

I travel a lot and am quite heavy on suitcases and the last few I have bought have not come with a padlock at all. I have the smaller soft sided Primark case (which is excellent BTW) and just use my own existing padlocks.

I've never known them come with padlocks.

You can pick up a padlock (combination 3 number one) from poundland - I've used one of those 9 times in 3 years, and it has lasted.

I think to sell at Primark prices with a lock that actually works is unrealistic. Better for Primark to sell the cheap luggage and then you supply a lock that you know works. Also America insists that locks can be opened with their special key http://www.travelsentry.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=47&Itemid=53&lang=en
