Hi everyone,
Quick question please. My three Natwest debts have gone to Wescott recently and when I've checked on stepchange only one has been paid this month. There is a message saying that 2 credit cards are on hold as stepchange are unable to make payment. I will ring stepchange tomorrow but curious to know why one has been paid and the other two not.
Many thanks

Its ok. Sorted it out I think. Rang Wescott and spoke to a lovely lady. Will ring Stepchange tomorrow. The lovely lady thinks its because Stepchange haven't contacted them yet. Still a bit confused though because I thought payments were still made to Nat West. Oh well like I say will ring Stepchange tomorrow.£12,432 - debt free February 2018 :j0

Yes it's probably because the payments weren't accepted by natwest as they are sold to westcott. That's probably good news as I expect they'll be defaulted with no interest now, hopefully.

Hi all,
Just a quick update really. Just sharing information for anyone else that this happens to. Rang Stepchange this morning and they hadn't contacted Wescott, the accounts went over to Wescott at the end of July. Gave Wescott reference number to them and everything fine, payment will go out today.
Think it is good news Sazzie.£12,432 - debt free February 2018 :j0 -
Are you sure your accounts have been sold ?
Do they refer to "there client" in there letters at all ?
I notice DCA`s who usually just managed debts for clients, are now starting to buy them aswell.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi Sourcrates,
Thanks for replying. To be honest I am a big confused.
When I received letters from Natwest informing me that Wescot would be managing my accounts they mentioned that I should still continue paying them. The letters from Wescot state "that Wescot will shortly be advising Stepchange Debt Charity that we have taken over the management of your accounts on behalf of Natwest and that all payments and communications regarding your accounts should now be directed to us".
I don't know but am thinking that maybe I had to continue payments to Natwest until Wescot had spoken to Stepchange to set the payments up.
There is no wording in the letters referring to their client.
Value your opinion, what do you think?£12,432 - debt free February 2018 :j0 -
Forgot to mention that when I rang Wescot yesterday, the young lady mentioned that Natwest had closed the accounts. Is that significant?£12,432 - debt free February 2018 :j0

Not really. It means that any monetary credit or debit now rests with the DCA, so you can't pay Natwest even if you wanted to.Debt free on 2nd January 2015Next savings goals:£5k emergency fund£4k holiday of a lifetime fund0
