Sorting the board by end date help please

Options
Hi love this site but often feels unwieldy and hard to sort by end date. If I wanted (which I do) to sort the board by date endest soonest (ie ending today for example) what would be the best layout or filter to use>? Many thanks in advance :)

  • i had seen that and maybe i'm just thick but can't get it to filter to a specific end date ie 07/08 have tried searching with the date as a search term ie E: 05/08 but it still doesn't seem to filter to just that days. Maybe as a forum this is not possible. Thanks for replying to me so quickly :)

Once it's in date order you would have to click through to get the date you wanted, there is no "ending soonest" sort
  • Thanks for letting me know I will try that,

    I do the following:

On Competitions Time, click on Search this Forum (not at the top on sub-forums, but lower down on CT itself). Then click Advanced Search.

In Keywords, enter the date you want, eg E: 10/08. In the box below, select Search Titles Only. Untick the Also search in child forums box.

This should then return only the threads which start with E: 10/08.

However, there are some things to watch out for:

    1) The above search will also show threads starting with E: 08/10.

    2) This search will only return 12 pages of results. If the number of comps comes to less than 12 pages for that date, then this is fine, but if it comes to 12, then chances are some results are missing, and the only way to see them all would be using the End Date View button on the other thread.

    3) This search will also return results where 08 and 10 both appear, but not necessarily in the date eg E: 08/08 (9am) Win a £10 Pets at Home voucher (FB photo)

Reading this back, I've made it sound very complicated , but I do this every day and find it much easier this way :)

    ETA:

    4) A search for a date where the numbers are the same eg E: 08/08 will return all results containing 08, so is pretty useless. Again the best way to search for these types of dates, is to use the End Date View button.
