Hi sorry if this is on the wrong thread, wonder if anyone can help me with this.

someone bought me a £20 gift card for BHS a while ago, today i thought i would pop in store and see if there was something i could get only to be told the following

as they are now in administration I have to buy some thing for £40 to be able to use my gift card i cannot just buy something to the value of £20 use the gift card and not give them any money. is this right?
