Aylesbury to London Blackfriars

Hi all,

I'm looking for the cheapest and quickest route to Blackfriars. I have a car and don't mind walking between stations etc. Also have Oyster card and rail card.

Travelling is not regular and not really know in advance.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

All good questions. The TfL journey planner suggests Chiltern Railways Aylesbury to Harrow on the Hill, then Metropolitan Line to Finchley Road, then Jubilee Line to Westminster, then District/Circle to Blackfriars with a journey time of 1h27m.
I don't think Aylesbury is in the Oyster Area, so a good bet would be to get an appropriate ticket (single or return) from Aylesbury to Harrow on the HIll, than start an Oyster journey for the rest of the route.

If your railcard is a Senior Rail Card you can have this endorsed onto your Oyster Card (as long as the Oyster card is registered) by gateline staff at Harrow on the HIll, so as to benefit from one-third off off-peak journeys

So an off peak day return from Aylesbury to Harrow on the hill with Senior Rail card is £9.70. Single off-peak Oyster fare with senior rail card from H-o-t-H to Blackfriars is £2.05. Total round trip fare £13.80.
