Evening all and a warm welcome to the new peoples and returners :hello:

Thank you for running the thread Zippy and Coxy :D

We are back from holibobs and a 'normal' month for us in October so please put us down for usual £200 for the month.

Our budget covers all food for meals and pack-ups, cleaning products and laundry and general toiletries, from the first to the last of each month.

Good luck everyone and hope you enjoy the challenge. Please ask if you have any questions - the only silly one is the one you don't ask :rotfl: Many people have been on here for ages so someone usually has the answer you need.

I'm in September until the end so 'see' you all in October

I've updated my original post for clarity.

    Good luck everyone! :)

  • £350 for me again please. Am determined not to have another epic fail after Septembers disaster.
Off to make a months meal plans now :)
  • Took £20 out of my spending kitty to stock up on 'takeaway' food boxes for this afternoons cook-a-thon (they are great for portion control/stacking and have big lids to write on so no UFOs lol).

Have a milk glut so making packet mash and rice puds. I also bought some pies on offer at my local bakers - steak+ale and cheese+onion so the basis of 4 meals there.

Change divvied up between my 5p and 20p jar (which I'm saving to help with 5 week months), the hospice box (all copper) and my windowcleaner/milkman box.

Checked all my change for these!

  • I'm in again.

Budget will be £250 hopefully I won't go over again - I think it shouldn't be too difficult to cut back £25 (which was what I was over)

Got about 2 weeks shopping in and meal planning everything I can, trying to use stuff out the freezer to run it down and have loads in there.

I'm hoping to do a big batch cook soon but need the freezer space first so eating what ever is in as anything I can pull out of there is another meal I don't have to buy.

  • After rediscovering just how much I save by doing weekly internet shopping I'm going to set a budget of £55 per week please

I have received my on-line shop from Mr S (booked today to use a £10 voucher) so I will start my spending from today although pay day isn't until tomorrow.

    £49.00 to add.

I received another £10 off £50 on-line voucher and a £4.50 off £30 for use in store. DH will want some beers this weekend and he has scoffed all the cheese without telling me and we cant manage without cheese and I missed oranges off the order so I will need to shop again this weekend.

The vouchers will be used for the next 2 weekly shops :)

I have budgeted £500 but in my head I am going for a stretch target of £400. It will be a stretch as we spent £633 in 4 weeks in September or £158/week and £400 in a 5 week month would be £80/week
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

    Afternoon all,

Just had my second delivery for the month and it came to £40.73.

As it is the Ryder Cup weekend there are a few extras for hubby, ie soft drinks and potato sticks!

With what I have in already we should be fine for a week, and I am hoping to stretch it a bit further as I need to empty the freezer to defrost it before winter.

I will be back later to see how you are all doing, but I must crack on with housework first.
