Companies - from bountiful to bah humbug!

Options
I have been looking back over my years of comping and remembering those companies who were once so generous in giving away prizes and who ran regular competitions and wondering what happened to them?

There was Bosch - they used to run a great monthly...

The Times hourly comps - they used to run at least once a month...

Mags such as Elle, Red, Grazia - no comps from them in a long long time...

Company Magazine used to run so many more comps - but now they just run comps once or twice in a blue moon....

And there was the ITV free online entries which suddenly ceased...

I find that I red cross so many more comps these days as prizes seem to be getting smaller and smaller each year.

Any more companies that we can add to our 'List of Frugal Companies'?

I used to love all the comps on products, Pepsi, Coke, Mc Vities biscuits, Magnum etc, they all used to have lots of big prizes. If they do occasionally run comps now the prizes are nothing like they used to be.

Everyone seems to say they win less now because so many people enter, but I think there are nowhere near as many decent comps as there were a few years ago. :(

I completely agree - that is why I red cross so many as I don't tend to enter to win items like, a block of cheese or a fish slice. Even the Advent prizes are no where near as big as they used to be and there wasn't as many Easter egg hunts over Easter either :(

On the plus side (although not my cup of tea) there are the mag dailies which are worth a bob or two and the click to wins currently have over £30,000 worth of prizes

Totally agree and I am like you with many many red crosses.

Visa used to run a lot of fab comps and I was extremely lucky with these having won many a prepaid card, two of them were over £1,000 and also a trip to London Olympics. :D

Debenhams also used to run a few good comps but not seen many of them for a long while.

The majority of ones I enter now seem to be from the Bauer Group of radio comps.

I hate the product ones as I rarely buy anything branded ( they's have a job cutting down my food expense on eat Well for Less) I have restarted the mag dailies & think their prizes have gone down hill since I stopped

    Currys wishlist - sorely missed!
Visa - the ones where they would give away £100 cards several times a day but you had to upload a receipt - haven't seen one of those for a long time
Nisa Locally - the ones where you could enter 100 times. I once won an iPad Mini on one of these but haven't seen one for years
The wine page on FB (think it was Banrock Station) that gave away 100 National Trust passes a month. I won about 5, had some great days out!
I'm sure there's more, but I just can't think off the top of my head...

Full house magazine (although they folded rather than just stopped running them)

Baumatic - on Facebook - they used to give away loads of great prizes every week! Then they stopped!
