having a company + part time job

Options
Hi all,
I have a start-up registered as Ltd company and at this point I need to get a part time job until the business develops enough.
Could you please help me with: am I allowed to work part time (in a pub i.e.) while I'm registered as one of the directors ? if yes, is it better to be on their payroll or to invoice them (via my company)?
Thanks!!

The first question needs to be directed at the directors of the Ltd company - it would be down to them to decide if work could be taken on elsewhere.

For the second question, on what grounds could the pub invoice your company??? If you have a part time job in a pub you would be on their payroll as an employee just the same as anyone else they enploy. Perhaps you could expand on why/how you think they could invoice your limited company for this?

There's nothing which prevents a director of a Limited Company from having other sources of income.

Apologies if it is my misunderstanding, but you seem not to understand your relationship to the Limited Company. Even if you were the only director, it isn't "my company". A Limited Company is an entity in itself - and, as a director, you have a duty to put the Limited Company's interests above your own.

That doesn't mean that the Limited Company, subject to its Articles, cannot contract with a pub to supply services and then pay you - but make sure that you understand the relationships and the obligations arising between Members, Officers, Debtors, Creditors and Employees of a Limited Company.
