Smartparking, Kinnoull Street, Perth. Use it often.
Arrived one evening and three machines did not accept our money, or the money of another couple. Went to office. Attendant said we'd get free parking for the evening, and correctly wrote our name and reg on the relevant sheet. We kept trying to pay for our parking!
Parking fine arrived by post. Advised by local councillor not to pay, but we did send the relevant parking fee for the evening, with an explanation. Appeal, and cheque , rejected. Numerous letters in response to our appeals have arrived. We were advised to always respond.
Fine directed at vehicle registered keeper who was not driving. They don't know who was.
Company say they do not have the sheet.
What can we do?

tell them that you will require their attendant to give a statement in court , if they proceed . this will be done under oath and failure to appear will cause them rather large problemsSave a Rachael

Then ignore everything ( except the unlikely event of court documents turning up)0 -
You do nothing.
In Scotland, without knowing who the driver was, Smart are up a close with no way out. So just ignore them and their shonky debt collectors.

Do they have Trading Standards Officers in Scotland? If so write to them complaining that this company are not only wasting your time, but trying to obtain monies to which they have no entitlement. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
