How to remove a CCJ - Not normal CCJ

Hey all,

I made some mistakes years ago, learn't my lessons over the years however...

I did a bad thing back in 2011, where I had a store card with 'Burton' Menswear, which was owned by the 'Arcadia Group'.

Anyway, despite having that card with a £100 limit for years, I had a balance of £98 but in January 2011 when I moved out of the apartment I had, I stopped paying it..
Stupid of me, real stupid, but that's in the past...

According to my credit report, I get some puzzling info, but assume it all relates to the same thing....

A default was placed against me by 'Arrow Global Ltd' in September 2011 for £266. Am guessing that is a combination of £98 owed + charges.....

Then in November 2011, a CCJ was placed against me in the Northampton Bulk processing county court for the tune of £353.

Fast forward to April this year, I never bothered with checking a credit report until then.....
Saw the info, but under the Public Info page which shows the CCJ, it doesn't show much other than a ref and the value and date....
So I paid £10 to court or some governing body website which basically gave me the same info as what I saw on my credit file (doh!), anyway, emailed the court direct, told them I was trying to track down who placed the CCJ, etc etc....

Courts replied saying that the CCJ was placed by a solicitors firm by the name of "blah blah blah"....

My plan was to pay this CCJ , so tried to find a contact number for the solicitors... Turns out, the solicitors went bankrupt in 2012. Back when I had the store card, a bank (cant recall) held the accounts for the Arcadia Group Store cards.....

But some time since then, 'Santander' bank have taken over the accounts/card management for the firm who do the storecards...
Soooooooo, I contacted customer services and the debt team for Santander, explained my situation, and said I wanted to pay off the CCJ....

In a nutshell, they don't recognise me, they don't recognise the debt, I cant pay them as they hold no data for me, advised me to pay the handling agents for the debt..
The handling agents for the debt are the guys who went bankrupt in 2012 !

Un-sure now how to remove this CCJ ? I get the feeling Arrow Global ltd might have sold the debt to someone else ? but even if I paid them, I would still have a CCJ showing as they didn't put it there (as I am lead to believe)
Any ideas ?

1 more thing (not linked with the above)
Limitations Act 1980 / Statute Barred..
Does this work like this:
You have a debt, u cease payment/correspondence in January.
A Default goes against you in July.
Will it disappear from your credit report 6 years later January ?
Or.............
You have a debt, u cease payment/correspondence in January.
A Default goes against you in July.
Will it disappear from your credit report in July 6yrs 6mths later ???

You won't get the CCJ removed, even if you do pay it.

A default comes off 6 years after it was put on, so in your example it would be July 6yrs 6mths later.

    Hi,

If judgement was made in 2011, it will fall off your file next year regardless.

If no one is chasing you for it, why worry ?

    cheers for the replies.
No one chasing, as no one is available to chase me...
But having a CCJ Might affect me when applying for certain jobs..

Any clues to the other query ? debt disappears from credit file after 6 years, or 6 years after the date the creditor placed a default against it ?

    Hi

The debt account will drop off a credit report 6 years after the default date.

If the judgement creditor has gone bust, and the company that bought there books has no record of you, or the CCJ, then who exactly are you meant to pay ?

Obviously you can't pay anyone can you !!

Even if you did find someone to take your money, paying a CCJ won't remove it, and a settled CCJ is only partially better than an unsettled one anyway.

Next year this will all be academic anyway.
